We were saddened to hear that Epeli Seru, known to all who played alongside him as Pele, lost his life in a tragic boat accident in his native Fiji. Pele was an immensely popular member of Stockwood Park, where he played during the late 1980s and 1990s. He was in the twilight of his career when he joined us, but displayed wonderful skills and a huge commitment whenever he played. Modest and self-effacing, he was someone who was highly regarded both on and off the pitch. Our thoughts go out to his family at this difficult time.
