On an afternoon when 13 trys were scored ( 9 by Park ) and a few more were left unscored by both teams as their error counts meant further chances were not taken, Stockwood Park and Huntingdon provided some lively entertainment for the large crowd.
Park were 15-19 down at halftime but once again stretched away in the second half to secure another well earned victory by 58 -26. Unfortunately Park skipper and scrum half Frank Daly suffered a serious injury to his hand early in the game. Daly was replaced by Park’s 18 year old Colt’s Scrum Half Will Edmonds who had a fine match collecting 2 trys along the way.
In the first half, after Huntingdon had taken a 7-0 lead, trys for Park were scored by Flanker Dan Loft and scrum half Will Edmonds before Huntingdon went ahead again with 2 trys to make the score 15-19 at the break. Centre Nick Dundee adding a conversion and a penalty for Park.
At the start of the second half Park immediately moved up a gear. Immediately they were on the attack and over a period of the next 15 minutes took the score to 44-19 with further trys from Fullback Olly Daly. Right Wing Jerome Isles. Fly Half and Man of the Match Sean Martyn, Number 8 Michael Powell and a second try for replacement scrum half Will Edmunds. Park then conceded a penalty try to Huntingdon before adding two more trys of their own from Hooker Alfie Daly and a second try for Fullback Olly Daly. Centre Nick Dundee kicked a further 4 conversions making the final score 58-26 to Stockwood Park.
Next week Park are away at Peterborough Lions RFC KO 3pm.
