Match Report: SPRFC 1XV 52 – 10 Huntingdon

For Stockwood Park RFC  this league fixture against  Huntingdon RFC eventually  finished as a comfortable 52 – 10 victory but it was not until the last 20 minutes that Park found their form. During the last quarter Park scored 33 of their 52 points and as Huntingdon tired Park took control against a very resilient and hardworking home team whose performance belied their league position.

For Park there were two outstanding individual trys.  One scored by their very promising winger / fullback, Matteui Degui, his second of the game,  who ran through a number of the opposition players , starting from his own half, to out pace any defence to score wide out and the other scored by Park’s Scrum Half and Skipper  Frank Daly, setting off from the halfway line to touch down.

Park led 19-5 at halftime with trys from Matteui  Degui, Fly Half Angus Buckman and No 8 Aaron Beattie. Centre Nick Dundee added the extras for 2 of the trys.

In the second half further trys were added by Wing Jerome Isles. Matteui Degui. Tight Head Prop Mark Smith. Skipper Frank Daly and finally  Centre Jordan Fadoju.  Nick Dundee converted 4 of these trys to give him a match total of 12 points.

Huntingdon scored two trys of their own, one in each half.

Park’s victory maintains their position of third in the league. This weekend coming they complete the first half of the season with a home fixture against Peterborough Lions RFC.  KO 2.15pm
