Code of conduct for parents/carers

  • Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them.
  • Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials.
  • Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.
  • Never force your child to take part in sports.
  • Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good performance of all.
  • Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.
  • Publicly accept officials’ judgements.
  • Spectators, including coaching staff and parents, may not enter the field of play at any time.   Medical/First Aid personnel for purposes of treating an injured player are exempt from this rule.   Infringement of this rule may result in up to a life time ban from all rugby clubs in the UK.
  • Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
  • Use correct and proper language at all times.
  • Any parent/carer making inappropriate verbal comments to the referee, players or other spectators, including taunting, may be asked to leave the playing arena.
  • Any member of the club not conforming to the Codes of Conduct may be subject to disciplinary action.
