Stockwood Park moved to the top of the league table with a comprehensive victory on Saturday over Northampton BBOB by 35 points to 5. Park scored 5 tries to secure a bonus point win and all the tries were converted by some outstanding kicking from Fly Half Brandon Lewsey. Although Park dominated the game there was still some frustration that they left at least 3 tries out there following brilliant attacking moves which failed at the last moment with the final pass.
For Park there were some fine performances with their line out jumpers, Jack Wharton, Phil Doherty and Michael Powell supplying a constant source of good ball and with a man of the match performance from Scrum Half Frank Daly, who scored 2 tries, one from a quickly taken penalty which saw him cross the line before the home team were aware and which saw him involved and committed in attack and defence.
Park started slowly and conceded a try within a few minutes to go 5-0 down before they got going. BBOB worked hard but Park’s slick handling was very effective and in the first half they moved into a 21-5 lead at halftime with tries from Brandon Lewsey, Alfie Daly and his brother Frank. In the second half Frank Daly added his second try before No 8 Will Bennett charged over for Park’s 5th try, all of them converted by Lewsey.
This Saturday Park take on Stamford at home in a top of the table League clash. KO 2.15pm.
Park’s successful 2nd XV continued their good run with a 21-7 victory over Brackley.
