In a hard fought game the 2XV beat St Neots 24-12 at Stockwood Park.
In an evenly matched first half neither side looked like they were going to dominate proceedings with Park maintaining a slim lead through the half ending with the score 10-5 in Parks favour at the change.
St Neots clearly took their half time talk to heart and came out guns blazing scoring shortly after the restart taking the score to 12-10 in their favour. For the next 10 minutes St Neots applied pressure both in forward and back play keeping Park on the back foot and back in their half for much of this period.
Some well timed substitutions and players digging deep eventually turned the tide with Park looking more in control at the breakdown as the half went on. With the backline attacking out wide continually drawing the defence it was Bennett at 8 going around the back of the maul and twice crossing that sealed the victory for Park.
A superb example of a squad effort with players having to dig deep when under considerable pressure from St Neots at the change.
Needham gets away to cross for the 1st of the day
Great throw in by Hibbert and lineout work by Connor and pack at the 5 meter, allowing Peacock to break around the back and beat the defence for a great try.
Great lineout work followed by a good maul allows Bennett to cross
Another great lineout and Bennett crosses again
